Since the holidays can be a hectic time for promotions, lots of common mistakes in booklet printing can actually pass through the usual checks.   • The quality of your images – Always look out for the quality of your images. See if their resolution matches your main draft resolution. Otherwise, when you combine your images and your draft for booklet printing, the images may get fuzzy ruining the booklet design.
  • One way to prevent this from happening is to refrain from using images from the Internet. It is always best to just use images that you take on your own. Taking pictures with a high resolution camera or making graphics in a high resolution drawing software are best used for booklet printing. You will have no fuzzy or bad graphics when you do it this way.
  • The number of your design graphics – You should also always check the numbers of graphics or design elements with your booklet design. While it is good to have lots of images and small symbols and borders within a promotional booklet, sometimes things can get out of hand. Too many images will make a color booklet a little bit too cluttered and limit the information you can print in them. Even in catalog booklets it is best to balance out your images and text to a suitable proportion. So try to not overuse the power of images.
  • The number of your font styles – It is also important to pay attention to the number of font styles used for your holiday booklets. Some people can get carried away and use lots of different font styles for each section or area of the booklets. This is just not acceptable though even if it is the holidays.
  • The ideal way of course is to just use one or two font styles. Usually one style for the body of the text, and another style for certain kinds of special text areas. For variation, using different font sizes and making the text bold or italic should work easily. This makes for a coherent and still very flexible text style that is clean and ideal for promotions.

  • The quality of your paper – You should also check the quality of your booklet paper. Since it is the winter season and your booklets may face a lot of moisture and physical damage, it is best to invest in high quality paper. You have to make your color booklets tougher with thicker and moisture resistant paper so that they can last a long and useful time on the field.
  • The strength of your binding – Finally, you should also check your binding methods. While most promotional materials will use staple binding is the simplest and cheapest for booklets, sometimes your booklets will warrant better and higher quality binding purposes. Especially if you are printing booklet catalogs, or public relation booklets you should never be cheap with booklet binding. So try and see if your binding is appropriate for your booklets and if possible make it the best that you can afford. Not only will this make the booklets stronger, it will also make it look better and more professional.
