Jumpstart Your Product’s Debut With Color

January 24, 2010 Articles about Advertising No Comments

In building up to your product’s debut on the market, you are probably planning on doing several things to maximize your success. You have probably advertised the date of your grand opening or the date that your product will debut. You have probably spent a good deal of money on advertising in media outlets. And you almost certainly have invested a large amount in making sure your product is ready for the rigorous tests it will undergo once it is on the open market.

However, you may have overlooked one of the most important investments to make before debuting your product. That investment is in having attractive, quality literature for your product or business. Too many businesses, when starting up, make the mistake of cutting costs by having their literature printed in black and white, either by a less-than-reliable printing company, or by doing it themselves.

That is a big mistake.

Having quality literature printed is one of the most important investments you can make. Let’s think about this for a second. When you are getting your brochure printing or catalog printing done, it is true that you could save some money by having them printed in black and white, or maybe with one color. But don’t you think that customers will respond much more readily to full color brochures? Absolutely, they will. In fact, the increased profits that you will receive from using full color in your brochures will more than make up for the increase in cost.

The same is true when it comes to other types of literature, as well. When you get your flyer printing done, go with full-color. When you are designing your booklet printing, go to a reputable, reliable printing company such as PrintPlace.com. If you are planning on doing a poster printing, invest some extra money to make them look spectacular.

One common piece of literature that many startup businesses use is a custom catalog, which is a great idea in most cases. However, if you are going to hand out this catalog to hundreds or thousands of potential customers, you better be very certain that they are going to be pleased with its appearance. These catalogs, along with the rest of your literature, are going to give customers their first impression of your business or product. If they see poor quality and a lack of color, they may very well think that you are “cheap”, and that is definitely not the impression you want them to have (even if it’s true!)

So do yourself a favor as you are ramping up your product’s market debut: invest in full-color literature. It’ll pay off in the long run.
